Drug Docs Convicted

Two doctors in Washtenaw County have been convicted of their roles in operating a clinic which authorities described as a “pill mill”.

A federal court jury found Dr. Anthony Conrardy and Dr. William McCutcheon guilty or writing unnecessary prescriptions of powerful opioids to patients who went to a clinic just to get drugs.
The clinic was the Meghnot Comprehensive Center for Hope in Pittsfield Twp. The clinic was raided in 2015.
The clinic was owned by 86 year old Lillian Meghnot. The U-S Attorney’s office said Meghnot hired staff to give an appearance of a legitimate clinic, but it sold millions of dollars of drugs illegally… Oxycodone, Vicodin, and others… who came to the clinic seeking drugs.
Lillian Meghnot pleaded guilty earlier. So did another doctor.
The convictions followed a month-long trial.
The penalties call for up to 20 years in prison.
