Michigan International Speedway Evolves

NASCAR fans, suite partners can expect exciting
race-day experiences in 2010

Twice every summer, hundreds of thousands of race fans converge on Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich., to soak up the sights, sounds and excitement only a NASCAR race weekend can bring.

Looking ahead to the 2010 NASCAR season, the two-mile, 42-year-old track, nestled in Southeastern Michigan’s scenic Irish Hills (70 miles from Detroit), will again play host to the NASCAR faithful for two race weekends (and more). But for the coming year, there are some dramatic changes in store — especially for the fans who in year’s past took in the thrilling action from the much-loved but aging terrace suites.

Suite partners will find an entirely different experience awaiting them this season. During the off-season, track owner International Speedway Corp. (ISC) launched a $17 million-plus reconstruction of the outdated terrace suites and media center in the track’s infield. The changes, which will be completed prior to the first NASCAR race weekend June 11-13, are sure to impress returning corporate suite partners, as well as newcomers, with warm, lodge-like design, amenities and, most of all, flexibility and functionality, Josh Burgett, director of Corporate Partnerships at Michigan International Speedway (MIS), said.

The facility’s two-story design calls for the 30 corporate suites to span the structure’s second floor. Several of the suites will include movable walls, so areas can expand or decrease based on partners’ needs, building upon MIS’ philosophy to tailor custom packages to each partners’ business goals. The suites seat 60, 30 or 15, and one party suite equivalent to two 15-person suites.
