Paul W. Smith is the morning drive host at News/Talk 760 WJR – the only News/Talk station serving metro Detroit and beyond. The Paul W. Smith Show broadcasts weekday mornings from 5:30 – 9:00 a.m. from the Golden Tower of the Fisher Building, in Detroit’s historic New Center, as well as from around the world, including Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Jerusalem, Dubai, Paris, Frankfurt, Geneva and where ever news is happening.
Paul W. talks with local and national leaders and discusses and breaks news that is talked about all day long, as well as including frequent traffic and weather updates, along with in depth business news and entertaining sports with Steve Courtney.
Whether he is interviewing the President of the United States, Hollywood celebrities, Chairmen or CEOs of major corporations, or taking a call from the Governor or other listeners, Paul W. has a winning conversational style that keeps listeners tuned in.
Paul has a long and extensive background in talk radio, television and the entertainment field. Since he graduated from the University of Michigan, Paul has been a host on the ABC Radio Network and at the former Financial News Television Network in New York City. He has also hosted morning shows on both radio and television in Toledo, Ohio, as well as mega radio stations WABC and WMCA in New York City, and WWDB-FM in Philadelphia from 1990-1996, before coming back home to News/Talk 760 WJR.
Paul W. is the only broadcaster in all of radio to be asked to guest host on Paul Harvey News and Comment, The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show--the three most listened to radio programs in the history of radio.
Recently, the highly respected Wall Street Journal called Paul W. Smith “The King of Talk Radio in Detroit.”
Paul W. devotes much of his time to many important endeavors, including helping thousands of Detroit youth through the “Paul W. Smith Golf Classic to benefit Think Detroit PAL”, already raising well over $1.5 million net dollars for athletic, academic and leadership programs.
