Pontiac Woman Dies After Being Pulled from Burning Home in Suspicious Fire

PONTIAC, MI — A 30-year-old woman died Monday morning of injuries suffered in a Sunday house fire, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s office. Firefighters and police were called to the burning home on South Paddock Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The home was fully engulfed in flames and firefighters pulled a man to safety through a basement window, police reported. The 32-year-old man was treated at McLaren Oakland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but a second victim was later found in the home with more severe burns, according to the sheriff’s office. She was taken first to St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in critical condition, then transferred to the Detroit Receiving Hospital’s burn unit, where she died Monday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
