One Oakland County law enforcement officer says parents need to be aware of a new drug that could soon be hitting the streets. ‘Flakka’ is being called a cheap high–but it comes at a steep price. “Flakka, or five dollar insanity, is the latest version of bath salt or synthetic pot. Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh has been following drug trends for years, he says he’s never seen anything quite as dangerous as this synthetic designer drug. Flakka can be smoked, injected or swallowed, and it produces an intense high that makes the user feel super human. It’s also very easy and cheap to produce. The drug is on its way to metro Detroit….having made inroads from Florida north to Ohio.
Parents can look for bizarre behavior and increased strength. A helpful tip to identify the drug is that is looks like rock candy and smells like sweaty socks.
