Coroner talks with Frank Beckmann about the complications that may be encountered solving the Chelsea Bruck case

MAYBEE, MI — In a wooded area on private property near a popular hangout in Monroe County’s Ash Township, police found the naked body of a woman Friday.

Their fears were confirmed when the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office on Saturday verified using dental records the victim was Chelsea Bruck, the Maybee 22-year-old who vanished after a rowdy Halloween party Oct. 26.

Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone called it a “senseless murder” and said “evidence at the scene indicates it was a homicide.” The full autopsy and official cause of death could take up to a month to determine.
