Paul W. Smith moderating an important forum on human trafficking in Michigan on Tuesday

Not in my backyardHuman trafficking is a very serious issue nationwide. It primarily affects women and children who are exploited sexually or for their labor.

A forum will take place Tuesday to address the problem here in our state. Attorney General Bill Schuette will keynote and WJR’s Paul W. Smith will moderate the upcoming forum “Not in My Backyard: Conquering Human Trafficking in Michigan”. It’s sponsored by the Metro Detroit Chapter of the US National Committee for UN Women and will take place Tuesday, April 28th at 11 a.m. at Walsh College.

The distinguished list of panelists includes; Jane White, Executive Director of the State of Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force, Dan Tewilliager/Special Agent in Charge, Homeland Security, Theresa Flores, Founder of S.O.A.P. and author of “The Slave Across the Street” and Edee Franklin, Founder and Executive Director of Sanctum House.
