TAYLOR, MI — A man was shot in the leg while driving on Southfield Freeway early Sunday morning, according to Michigan State Police.
The victim and a passenger told police the shot came from a rear-seat passenger of a cab that slowed to drive alongside them about 2:30 a.m.
The driver told investigators he was southbound on Southfield Freeway when he saw the yellow Ford Crown Victoria described as a “checkered” taxi vehicle enter the highway from Plymouth Road at a high speed, passing the victim.
The victim flashed his high-beam head lights at the speeding vehicle, and the cab slowed to drive next to his vehicle, according to state police.
That’s when a rear passenger of the cab fired, striking the driver in the leg, the victim told police.
