A tragic car accident killed 3 teens at Stoney Creek Metropark in Shelby Township Friday evening. The crash happened at 6:14 p.m, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. There were also 2 others injured and taken to the hospital. Initial reports had indicated either a bicycle or pedestrians were involved, but Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham told reporters it was a single car accident. It appeared the 2008 Jaguar S-type vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed.

“The car crossed a lane, went over a guardrail and into fencing and ended up in the Stoney Creek River,” he said. Four of the boys were ejected from the car, one was belted in. One of the teens who was hospitalized was able to provide the police with some information. They were all 17 or 18 years of age.
