Treetops Resort files suit against U of M students

Treetops Resort in northern Michigan will file a civil lawsuit against individual members of the University of Michigan fraternity and sorority who caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage during a wild weekend party in January.

In a statement, treetops said 200 members of the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity and Sigma Delta Tau Sorority rented 50 rooms at the resort for a ski weekend, which ended when management was forced to call Michigan State Police to assist the resort in evicting the group after resort property was vandalized.

Three University of Michigan students have already been criminally charged in connection with the damages.
