Amber Alert in Romulus canceled. Child found safe

UPDATE:  The  Amber Alert has been canceled for 16-month-old Ayden Casteels. Police say he has been found safe.

Police say Ayden was found in Westland when someone saw the suspect on foot about 7:30 am. The suspect was arrested and the child was found sleeping in the car nearby

An AMBER Alert has been issued for a child who was last seen early Saturday morning.

The alert states Ayden Casteels, 16 months, was last seen in Romulus. The boy was abducted by an unknown male suspect from the 3000 block of Flynn Road–Casteels was in the car during a carjacking. The suspect is described as an African American man in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build and last seen wearing a blue jogging suit.

Casteels is a white male with brown eyes and brown hair, 2 feet 5 inches tall, 20 pounds, and was last seen wearing a red/black checkered short sleeve shirt and black faded jeans with teal Jordan shoes.

The vehicle is a red 1997 Saturn 2-door. Michigan license plate number is ACU559, and it has a broken mirror.
