Washtenaw County Sherriff’s Department investigating hate crime

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s department is investigating a possible hate crime outside of a home in Superior Township.

Authorities say the incident happened Monday night. The victim and an acquaintance had been at the Powell pub in Ypsilanti.  A short time later the man was assaulted by four men as he sat in a car outside a home. Police say it appears the victim and his acquaintance were possibly targeted by the suspects due to the victim’s sexual orientation and may have been followed leaving the bar.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office’s.
