Former Inkster police officer Floyd Dent will stand trial in connection with the beating of a motorist in January. William Melendez has been charged with assault and misconduct. During his preliminary examination, the 46 year old listened as the man he’s accused of beating, Floyd Dent, took the stand and told the court what happened on the January night he was pulled over by Melendez.
