U.S. Federal Judge Shawn Cox has scheduled a meeting for Monday to discuss the idea of Detroit absorbing the city of Highland Park along with its 26 million dollars in water debt from bills that were never collected or sent out.
Two regional leaders, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans and Macomb County Executive Mark Hackell, have been left out of that discussion.
On Friday, he told Frank Beckmann that he learned about it coming home from the Mackinac Policy Conference, which is all about discussions that affect the region.
