A Detroit teacher who was fired after she used a broom to break up a fight between two students is suing the Educational Achievement Authority School District. Tiffani Eaton Davis’s lawsuit says administrators did not warn her — or prepare her for violent conditions. Davis worked at Pershing High School, she goes on to say other teachers who physically intervened in fights were not disciplined. She was fired and although later told she could come back, she declined saying she was traumatized.
A video of Davis using the broom to break up the fight went viral on social media.
