Oakland County Sheriff asking for help locating police impersonator

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding a possible police impersonator. The incident happened Thursday morning around 6am near east bound I-96 at Milford Road. Two off duty officers observed what appeared to be a police impersonator conducting a traffic stop. One of the officers attempted to follow the suspect, but when the suspect reached speeds of  90mph, the officer stopped following.

The driver: White male with light brown hair – crew cut style. Last seen wearing bright blue pants and a black tactical vest With the word “sheriff” in silver letters on the back.

The suspect’s vehicle: Early 2000’s silver or champagne Pontiac Bonneville, Red and blue led lights in the rear window, Windows on vehicle are mirror tinted, Michigan plate: 0KLR02

Anyone that has information or has had contact with this individual is urged to contact the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office
