Oakland County judge sends kids to Juvenile Center for refusing visits with father

West Bloomfield Kids

It’s a case that’s making national headlines and has many outraged: Three siblings were sent to juvenile hall by an Oakland County judge. Lisa Gorcyca ordered the children to be held for failing to maintain a “healthy relationship with their father”.  The kids, ages 9,10 and 15 were sent to the Children’s Village because they refused to have lunch with or talk to their dad. She declared the children of Maya Tsimhoni in contempt of court last month and ordered them held. The judge asked one of the children why he didn’t want to see his dad and he said, “Because he is violent and I saw him hit my mom.”

The parents of the children have been embroiled in a contentious divorce dispute since 2009. Gorycyca compared the children’s behavior to that of the Manson family, saying it is unlike any she has seen in 46,000 cases. She stood up for the father and maintained that the kids have been brainwashed.

They are permitted visits with their father and attorney while at Children’s Village, but not their mother or her side of the family.  The order further states “the siblings are to be kept away from each other as much as possible.”
