He was drunk, fought with police, ran out into the freeway local lanes of I-96 and was hit by a car. As a result, the local lanes of westbound I-96 at Grand River were closed for hours. A trooper who responded to a 911 call found the driver disoriented and smelling of liquor. When he got out of the car, the trooper tried to stop him from going into traffic. The driver began fighting so the trooper used a Taser on him, but he ran out into the roadway and was hit by a car.
