Fathers of Mitchelle Blair’s surviving children seeking custody

The mother is serving a life prison term for murdering two of her children and now the fathers of the remaining two children are trying to retain their parental rights. Mitchelle Blair of Detroit admitted killing two of her children and keeping their bodies in a freezer for over a year. She pled guilty to murder and was sentenced to life in prison earlier this month.

She has two surviving children, an 8-year-old boy and a 17-year-old daughter. Their fathers, Steven Barry and Alexander Dorsey, claim they didn’t know what was going on in Blair’s home and shouldn’t be held responsible. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services want their parental rights terminated. Wayne County Circuit Court judge Edward Joseph ordered a hearing for today to determine what he feels would be in the best interest of the  surviving children
