Michigan Supreme Court upholds right-to-work for state employees

gavelRight-to-work is for state employees too. The Michigan Supreme Court ruled that state employees are subject to Michigan’s 2012 right-to-work law. This means the state’s 36,000 employees can now opt out of paying union dues. It’s a blow to the UAW which represents state employees. They argue that the civil service commission, not the legislature, can set rules for civil servants.
