An 11-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter for allegedly shooting 3-year-old, Elijah Walker of Taylor to death. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says, that while visiting his father’s Eastwood street home on Monday, the 11-year-old took a hand gun from a bedroom closet and threw it out of the bedroom window into the backyard. He then got the gun and got into a parked vehicle in his father’s back yard, the three year old got in the car with him and was allegedly shot by the 11-year-old.

The boy is facing charges of manslaughter:  death by weapon aimed with intent but without malice and felony firearm. His preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday in the Juvenile Detention Center.

“I cannot remember a time where we have charged someone so young with taking a life.  Very unfortunately and very tragically, the alleged facts in this case demanded it,” said Prosecutor Worthy

Relatives of Walker are looking for donations to cover funeral costs for the child on a GoFundMe page
