State Representative Cindy Gamrat addressed the media about an alleged relationship between herself and Representative Todd Courser this afternoon. The state of Michigan is investigating the two and there are many calls for both of them to resign. Today, however, Gamrat made it clear that she was not resigning and said she was only there to apologize for her behavior.
“I want to apologize for the negative attention this story brought,” she said. “For that I am truly sorry.” Gamrat’s husband was with her and she teared up many times throughout the news conference. She maintains that she did nothing wrong and that an investigation will exonerate her.
