Former aide speaks out in Courser/Gamrat sex scandal, describes a “hostile and untenable” work environment

Joshua Kline presser

The saga of the Courser/Gamrat sex scandal continues. Joshua Cline, a former staffer for Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat, held a press conference today at the Dailey Law Firm in Royal Oak. He described what he called a “hostile and untenable” work environment. Cline said working for Todd Courser was almost unbearable, that he was a condescending boss who was like Jekyll and Hyde. He also described the public displays of affection between he and Gamrat. At one point he recounted a story of a morning in February when he received a call from Joe Gamrat, the lawmaker’s husband.  He said he had seen Courser leave Rep. Gamrat’s hotel room at 2 a.m, saying that the rumor was “not an urban legend”.

Cline, who is from Lapeer County knew Courser and worked on previous campaigns for him. He quit his job in April, just a month before Courser sent the anonymous fake e-mail to Republicans in Lansing in an attempt cover-up an extramarital affair with Gamrat.
