North Korea Threatens Military Action

North Korea is warning South Korea to halt what the North calls “psychological warfare through the loudspeakers.” The South Korean Defense Ministry said it received a written communication from North Korea saying that unless the South stops “psychological broadcasting” at the demilitarized zone in the next 48 hours, the North will “take military action.” The threat, along with an exchange of fire earlier Thursday, represent a significant ratcheting up of tension on the Korean Peninsula.
