Wayne County’s credit rating is going up

Wayne County’s credit rating is going up. Fitch Ratings took Wayne County off it’s negative ratings watch and called their rating “stable”. A few weeks ago, Moody’s said the approval of a consent agreement, to fix it’s finances, is a big step in the right direction. The county is struggling with a $52 million deficit, stemming from a huge drop in property tax revenue. The county still has to rectify a pension system that is underfunded by $910 million according to the latest actuarial  report.
