Police stepping up patrols through Labor Day

As the Labor Day holiday approaches, so have law enforcement efforts to make sure state roads are safe. Law enforcement officials statewide have stepped up their patrols, on the lookout for drivers who have had too much to drink. The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning says the added patrols will run through September 7, Labor Day. It’s all part of the annual ‘drive sober or get pulled over’ campaign. Officials also note that there are more than holiday travelers on the roads at this time. There are also students moving into many of the colleges and universities
