Kayaking Canadian arraigned for being back in U.S.

A Canadian man was arraigned in federal court for the second time in 14 months on Friday.  49-year-old Jack Bishop is a convicted sex offender and first drew national attention when border patrol agents nabbed him for illegally entering the country on his kayak last June near Fort Wayne. Investigators discovered that the man had a long rap sheet in Canada and ousted him after he served two months in jail.  But Troy police got a tip that the man was back in the country. A task force took him into custody on August 19th. He’d been living at the Fontaine Motel on Woodward between 6 and 7 Mile Roads. If convicted, Bishop could end up in prison for 2 years.
