Governor Snyder says 10K rape kits have now been tested

What happened to all of those untested rape kits found in a Detroit Police warehouse more than five years ago? Governor Snyder held a press conference with the Michigan State Police, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and other sexual violence prevention groups today in Lansing. Worthy said more than 10,000 evidence kits found have been tested. She said the results of those tests found connections to either criminal cases or individuals in 35 states. More than 11,000 rape kits that had never been tested for DNA matches were found stashed away in a Detroit police warehouse back in 2009.
