Highland Park police grateful for public’s help in arresting suspect in bus stop shooting

Highland Park police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting that happened last week at a bus stop on Woodward. Police Chief Kevin Coney said the suspect has a criminal history that includes murder. he is accused of shooting and killing 59-year-old veteran Stanley Paul Carter. Coney said he thinks the killing was a random act. The chief said the public stepped forward in this case and gave police valuable information which led to the arrest of the suspect.
