New details in Warren bank shooting where customer shot robber

Federal Court documents reveal new details in the bank robbery in Warren where a customer shot the robber. On Monday Henry Mann, 43, walked into Citizens Bank on Van Dyke in Warren and attempted to rob the bank.

Mann asked the teller if he could set up an account. When the teller turned around he pulled out and pointed a gun at the employee and another customer, Ruben Kendrick, nearby. Kendrick refused to listen to Mann when he told him to go behind the counter. He then told the employees to fill a bag with money. Kendrick had a concealed pistol license and pulled out his handgun and shot Mann several times.

Mann was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The shooting is still under investigation but it appears that Kendrick was justified in his actions.
