Chrysler Contract Rejected

It appears that the proposed labor contract at Chrysler has been rejected by the workers.
Local presidents and top bargainers from Chrysler UAW locals will gather tomorrow to decide what comes next.

Two large assembly plant locals — Local 12 in Toledo and Local 1700 in Sterling Heights — overwhelmingly rejected the agreement, dooming its chances. At the Toledo Assembly Complex more than 80 percent voted no.

At UAW Local 1700, in Sterling Heights 72 percent of production workers and 65 percent of skilled trades workers voted against the contract.

Voting results from a few other large locals are still to come.
