An American Airlines captain died during a flight, a company official told CNN on Monday. The official did not specify the cause other than to say it was “due to pilot illness.” The flight, an A320 with 147 passengers and five crew members on board, was en route from Phoenix to Boston when the pilot was overcome. The co-pilot landed the flight safely.
