SEATTLE — Calvin Johnson caught the ball and began barreling toward the goal line, an improbable comeback literally within reach.
But mere inches short of a go-ahead touchdown, the ball came loose and rolled through the back of the end zone. Touchback.
The Lions had moved 90 yards in the waning moments, only to fall 1 short. And just like that, victory — and very likely, this season — had slipped through the Detroit Lions’ grasp.
They lost their fourth straight game, this one by a 13-10 score on Monday night before a record crowd at CenturyLink Field. At 0-4, the Lions are the only team without a win in the NFL. MORE
