Detroit EMS workers stabbed on the job

Two Detroit EMS workers were slashed in the face while they were on the job. The workers, a man and a woman, were in front of a homeless shelter on the near west side when a man attacked them with a knife. They were reportedly stabbed and slashed several times. Police are searching for the stabber. Interim Detroit Fire Commissioner, Eric Jones, says he’s open to any reasonable option to protect our EMT’S but doesn’t want to involve fire arms. Jones stated he will seek more training for EMS workers on confrontations and self-defense. The EMS workers drove themselves to Detroit Receiving Hospital, even though they were seriously injured. They’re in surgery.
