A Royal Oak woman says she was fired from handbag retailer Coach because she was overweight. 35-year-old Elizabeth DeLorean is suing her former employer saying she was constantly reminded she should loose weight by her bosses at Coach. She was the manager at the Coach store at Lakeside Mall. According to the complaint, DeLoren’s “physique was healthy and petite” but she started to began gaining weight in 2010, eventually putting on over 100 pounds. The complaint further says her supervisors told her to tune into the The Biggest Loser, join Weight Watchers, get bariatric surgery and other things. The company says the lawsuit is without merit and Coach will prevail in the matter.
