Michigan Senate to debate new road plan

roads_prop 1

The Michigan State Senate is expected to debate a new plan to fix Michigan roads. The Senate will consider the proposal to raise gas taxes and registration fees. $600 million in the state’s general fund would also be moved  to road repair. Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof has said he has some concerns with the new plan and the 40% hike in registration fees. The plan would also increase the tax on diesel fuel by 7.3 cents and 3.3 cents on regular gas.
