Cider warning: State officials have issued a consumer advisory for apple cider produced at a Mid-Michigan cider mill that may be contaminated with e-coli bacteria. The Department of Agriculture says  that people who bought Uncle John’s Old Fashioned Apple Cider at St. Johns’ Uncle John’s Cider Mill should dispose of it. The advisory applies to 1,200 gallons made on Oct. 17 and sold at the mill in jugs with a sell-by date of Friday, or served to customers Oct. 18-21. Officials say Uncle John’s voluntarily stopped selling cider as it awaits more test results. No illnesses have been reported. A random sample collected by an inspector tested positive for an E. coli-producing toxin. E. coli symptoms often include stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting.
