Auburn Hills woman in court for fleeing scene and hitting police officer.

An Auburn Hills woman is due in court Monday to face charges for hitting an Auburn Hills police officer with her car. Police say 22-year-old Breianna Smart was stopped for a traffic violation on Oct. 23 when Officer Martin Mikolajczak tried to arrest her for driving on a suspended license at  Opdyke and Pontiac Roads. Smart resisted arrest, jumped back into her car, and drove off. The 37-year-old officer was hit by the open car door and fell down. Smart then hit the officer’s car as she sped from the scene. She was arrested a few hours later and was originally charged with a misdemeanor for driving with a suspended license. Smart is now facing a five-year felony for fleeing the scene and eluding police.
