An explosion destroyed a home in Redford Township on Sunday. The explosion occurred on Gaylord Street near West 7 Mile. The blast was felt throughout the neighborhood, blowing out windows and rattling doors of neighboring homes. The home owner was using propane tanks for gas and was not connected to DTE. A propane tank exploded and possibly ignited other propane tanks. One man was transported to the hospital with significant burns. The injured man is expected to live.
