Back to the bargaining table for Detroit casino workers

dealing-cards-1436802

It’s back to the bargaining table Monday for the Detroit Casino Council to negotiate a new contact for some six thousand workers. Negotiations are taking place for all three of Detroit’s casinos: Greektown Casino, MotorCity Casino Hotel, and MGM Grand Detroit. Last week, workers voted to authorize a strike. Monday marks the first time negotiators for both sides have met since October 30th. Detroit city leaders are watching the talks closely, knowing that the casinos generate large tax revenues for the city and are a big tourism draw. The current contracts expired on October 16th, but both sides agree to an indefinite extension.
