Closing arguments scheduled for Pugh

law-series-4-1467436

The Detroit Federal Court trial involving former Detroit Council President Charles Pugh is winding down, with closing arguments scheduled for Monday morning. A former student at the Frederick Douglas Academy is suing Pugh for one-million dollars in damages. He said Pugh, acting as a mentor at the school, pressured him into making a sex tape and paid him $160, which is money that he needed to cover expenses for his high school prom. The youth, identified only by the initials K.S., is now 20-years-old, but said his encounters with Pugh began when he was 17. During the deposition, Pugh admitted paying for the sex tape but insisted the boy was 18 and that the act was between two consenting adults. The plaintiff is seeking monetary damages in civil court.
