Improvements coming for Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge

tranquility-1238874

Major improvements are coming to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. The changes include a $2.85-million structure stretching 775 feet across the Detroit River, with a fishing pier to accommodate 100 people and a floating dock for the Michigan Sea Grant educational program boat. The boat dock, fishing pier, and a 12,000-square-foot visitor center, which are currently under construction, will be at the Refuge Gateway, a 44-acre site off West Jefferson Avenue near Vreeland Road in Trenton, Michigan.
