A case of tuberculosis has been confirmed by the Macomb County Health Department in a student attending the Utica school district. The student was enrolled at Utica high school but did spend some time at Stevenson high school. Letters were sent to student’s parents from both schools. Health officials say they are working to determine if any students or staff had potential exposure and testing will continue with skin tests for the next few weeks. Extra cleaning and disinfection will take place at both high schools. A case of whooping cough is confirmed in Washtenaw County in which they had 3 last month.
