A winter storm warning is in effect until 10 pm. The Metro Detroit area could get up to 4 inches of snow, but areas to the north and wet may get as much as 7 inches. This affects Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, Wayne, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Genesee, Huron and Lapeer.
Oakland County Road Commission officials are reminding drivers to slow down today as the area is expected to see the season’s first major snow fall. Road crews are already monitoring pavement temperatures. Officials say they expect a snow/rain mix this afternoon. There are 106 plow trucks available to clean up roads, but only 50 will be deployed at first.
