Coalition against ISIS builds

French President Francois Hollande is trying to build a wider international coalition against ISIS, the Islamic extremist group behind the Paris atrocities. He kicked off a busy week of diplomacy that’s set to include separate meetings with the U.S. and Russian presidents by hosting British Prime Minister David Cameron in Paris. The two leaders paid their respects to victims of the attacks outside the Bataclan Concert Hall, which the site of the deadliest massacre on November 13th.

Cameron says he’ll ask for parliamentary approval this week for Britain to join U.S. led airstrikes against Islamic State extremists in Syria. Cameron offered the use of a British air base in Cyprus for anti-IS actions in Syria. Speaking after meeting Hollande, Cameron said the two leaders agreed to increase counterterrorism cooperation after the attacks. He’s calling for greater European Union-wide efforts to share intelligence to stop extremists.
