President Obama addresses Syrian refugee crisis and American safety concerns

Before heading back to Washington, President Obama told reporters in Malaysia he understands Americans are worried about their safety in the wake of the Paris attacks. The President warned against getting caught up in the political rhetoric over Syrian refugees saying, “We must absolutely reject that we somehow at war with an entire religion.” Meanwhile, presidential candidate Donald Trump rebutted, saying the president “wants to take in people that have no documentation, no paperwork, from Syria people are going to come pouring in.” Presidential candidate Ben Carson’s contributed to the debate saying, “We should monitor anything: mosque, church, school, our shopping centers, anywhere there’s a lot of radicalization going on. Obama added that “the most powerful tool we have is to say that we’re not afraid.”
