Pope Francis visits Kenya on Wednesday as he begins his three-nation trip to Africa. The Nairobi government declared Thursday a holiday to honor the pontiff, as thousands of people are expected to greet him: an atheist group is challenging the decision in court. On Thursday, the papacy is hosting an inter-faith meeting and at least one representative of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims is planning on attending. The pontiff will stop in Uganda and the Central African Republic, which is a lawless conflict zone. When asked if he is afraid of his expedition, the pope replied, “I’m more worried about the mosquitoes.”
