Big Heist In Greektown

Detroit Police are trying to find out who got away with a large amount of cash in an armored car heist in Detroit’s Greektown district.

A man dressed as a guard walked up to an armored truck parked near the Greektown Casino, and walked away with as much as $500,000. According to information gathered by police, and witnesses, the Loomis armored vehicle was parked on the street at Monroe and Beubien. The man in the guard’s uniform walked up to the vehicle. A person inside opened a door, and the man in the uniform took several bags of money. They reportedly contained as much as $500,000.

The armored truck was not making a pickup or delivery at the casino. Police say no getaway vehicle was seen near the area, and no weapon was seen. The casino is helping police, who will check security video from cameras which operate outside the casino and in Greektown.
