Man who slashes EMT workers goes to court

A preliminary exam is scheduled for Monday for a Detroit man accused of attacking two emergency medical technicians. Police say 30-year-old Michael Montgomery has a history of violence. He is charged with attacking and slashing two EMT workers, who had been called to treat his girlfriend on Third Street in Downtown Detroit. He reportedly became upset when he wasn’t allowed into the ambulance where the woman was being treated. He is facing two charges of assault with intent to murder in this case. Prosecutors say this latest arrest led to filing of other charges against him including the sexual assault and murder of a 16-year-old girl in 2006.
