A 34-year-old St. Claire County woman, Elizabeth Long, is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of her one-year-old son, Lucas. Long, who resides in Ira Township, is due in court on Monday. Clay Township police officers arrived at Long’s home after they were called because of an unresponsive child. Long was charged after medical examiners determined the infant’s cause of death was an overdose of the active ingredient found in Benadryl. Long’s trial is set for January 12th.
